About us:
We are the Hamilton chapter of Frontier College , a Canadian national literacy organization founded over 100 years ago. Our purpose is to promote literacy in the community. We do this by working with a variety of community partners to provide support and programming for children and youth who are in need of help.
Our volunteers spend 1-2 hours each week reading with a child, helping with homework or doing other literacy related activities. Programs are organized and coordinated through a student led Organizational Team (known as the OT) and a part time Frontier College staff person. The majority of our volunteers are students who attend McMaster University. You do not have to be a student, however, to get involved.
